If ou cant find it then reply and ill dig up the link from somewhere. I've tried the lenvo driver, and the acer driver, I've tried installing in vista compatibility, with admin I even installed the reg edit, and now removed it, all Ive gotten is a black video screen.

Originally it had working video in bisoncam but nothing else, no MSN or Yahoo, The laptop is from cyberpowerpc. I contacted cyberpower's support and haven't received anything back yet. Its an Alienware driver downloaded from their support site, I might have edited the code to get it to work well but cant remember, It did work tho! My wecam is a bisoncam NB pro.. I can verify that this driver does indeed work on my Alienware Area 51 M mi-R1 series , running Windows 7 Ultimate bit. I had previously tried several drivers supposedly for bit Vista. Some actually appeared to function in that the correct ID was displayed in Device Manager but the camera looked like it was activated by default LED on and was de-activated as soon as a program tried to use the camera LED off , resulting in a black screen.

I then installed the driver as downloaded from Luke's link, and rebooted the laptop. After reboot I enabled the camera using Fn-F4 again and it was immediately recognized and slotted in under Imaging devices in Device Manager - this time with the LED off. Many, many thanks ReservedArmadillo. I have been struggling with this issue for 3 days on and off!

So I go into BisonCam Check the controls, all updated, nice So I've been searching around on the internet and find a lot of details on getting Vista 64 bit working, windows 7 32 bit working, but no one out of the post I've read has been able to get windows 7 64bit to run the non generic drivers. I woudn't even complain but I'm pretty sure the generic microsoft drivers aren't doing the 2 mega pixel camera justice.

So yea I may have to wait for them to realize that windows 7 64bit isn't installing the manufacturers drivers this includes every major computer company, trust me I tried using their Bison drivers So back to the windows drivers, is there some tweaks in the registry or something to work with, since windows is the only provider of working 64bit windows 7 drivers?

The image is just horrible. I've got another harddrive, and I'm going to install windows 7 32bit, to see if this changes anything about this driver issue. I'll try and post what happens. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, this is often what happens when a device has to use generic drivers.

The only real hope is that the device manufacturer will release bit Windows 7 drivers for the device. If not then what you have is what you have, and there really isn't any way to make it any better than it is.

So I install the Drivers that come with the laptop, no change to the system, in fact windows 7 64bit ignores the install.
