Hi curious its not wise editing exe files if you have no experience as a developer you could do untold damage. The author of the software in question would have set the authority at production for a reason only known to them.

As you are talking about "downloading software" then I would leave it at administator level. On a personal note I would not be happy if someone hacked and altered my software as it could make it unstable and unsafe plus I take a great pride in writing good efficient software and if it was altered then people would think I had wrote it like that. I would have to agree with malcp and by recommending file editors i am not promoting modifying security measures that are incoroperated into the software for your own protection.
