Volunteer programs kids cancer

Read on to explore how you, or your business, can get involved today. Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization: they mentor children, share their musical talents, staff community events, host toy drives, and serve on our leadership boards.

As a CCA volunteer, your efforts will make a powerful difference in the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Currently, volunteer opportunities are limited. Children battling cancer can spend days, weeks or even months in the hospital. Bags are needed for both younger children and teens. Children with cancer often have long stays in the hospital. The cost of eating in the cafeteria or ordering from restaurants can place a financial burden on families.

Children with cancer often have lengthy appointments in the outpatient clinic that sometimes last much longer than originally expected. Make sure you read over the description of what each volunteer for their specific team's role is so you choose the team s best fit for you!

Sign up. Complete the specific registration form for the team you would like to volunteer for. Once your volunteer registration has been received and processed, we will send a welcome message informing you how to join the correct group to receive assignments to work on for service hours within 10 days.

Familiarize yourself with your team leader s because they will help and lead you through everything! Submit Hours for Approval.

After finishing your volunteer work, submit everything for approval if applicable. Help raise urgently needed funds for the fight against cancer and share the message about the lifesaving work the American Cancer Society provides. If you enjoy using a computer or sharing information on social media then being a virtual volunteer may be a good fit for you. When you volunteer for an opportunity in patient services you directly help cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones get connected to the resources they need.

If you have experience or want experience in retail or hospitality, we have volunteer positions that fit your interests. If you enjoy being active, you could apply your interest in running, walking, golf, or other sports toward helping raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer. Engage your organization and encourage your employees or members to make an impact in the fight against cancer by becoming American Cancer Society volunteers.

The Volunteer Community allows volunteers to sign up for opportunities and complete training online. Our volunteers are making a difference through their passion and dedication to helping people with cancer.
